According to UNCTAD, Brazil was the second largest recipient of FDI to emerging economies in 2002. ATKearney, which polls executives on their future investment plans, ranked Brazil ninth in the world in terms of FDI prospects. It reveals that concerns about macroeconomic stability are giving way to confidence in the government’s economic management.

Brazil's economic performance in the third quarter of 2003 has been notable for falling interest rates, a falling sovereign risk premium on Brazil's international bonds and a sharp upswing in both FDI and international interest in the Brazilian stock market.
